1. Looking back at your first shoots in Mexico, what was your initial impression of the country\u2019s advertising industry, and what made you want to keep coming back?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, it was everything. The people, the food, the culture, the attitude, the work ethic. I fell in love with Mexico pretty quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s hard to explain, but every time I’m there I feel incredibly at home. In some ways, even more than I do in the United States. There’s a warmth and energy to the country that I connect with on a really deep level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What started as work turned into something much bigger. I’ve been coming back for over a decade now, and every trip feels a little like coming home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Having worked in Mexico for more than a decade, what do you think sets Mexican crews, talent, and creative culture apart from other markets around the world?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, they’re the best in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mexican crews work incredibly hard, but they’re also down-to-earth. There’s no ego. People know how to get the job done, solve problems, move fast, and still keep a sense of humor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can have the toughest day imaginable, and at the end of it everyone’s laughing, having a Victoria, telling stories, and getting ready to do it all again the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s a real passion for the work, but also a real appreciation for life. That’s a pretty special combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. You’ve witnessed the evolution of the Mexican advertising industry over many years. What changes have excited you the most, and where do you see the market heading next?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is the growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I first started coming down, there were already amazing crews and incredible talent, but now it feels like the rest of the world is really paying attention. More international productions are shooting here, more directors are coming here, and more opportunities are being created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My hope is that it just keeps growing. More jobs, more opportunities, bigger projects, and more chances for the next generation of filmmakers and creatives to build careers here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. As a director who has spent so much time working in Mexico, what do you hope to continue bringing to the industry, and what has Mexico given back to you creatively?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I honestly just hope to keep shooting here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mexico has been incredibly good to me throughout my career, and I’m grateful for that. If I can keep bringing projects down here, creating opportunities, and helping keep great crews busy, that’s a win for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creatively, Mexico has given me so much. It’s influenced the way I tell stories, the way I shoot people, the way I think about character, music, color, and emotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m also developing a feature film called Coraz\u00f3n<\/em>, which is set in Mexico and hopefully shooting there soon. For me, that’s the dream\u2014to keep growing, keep making bigger and better projects, and keep telling stories in a place that has inspired me for so long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. What do you think about Wabi and its work in both the international and Mexican markets?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think Wabi has done an incredible job building a bridge between Mexico and the international market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I love is that they understand both worlds. They can deliver world-class work internationally while still staying connected to the culture, talent, and creativity that make Mexico special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
